Our Paediatricians

Dr Selvarani (Selvi) Moses

General Paediatrician

FRACP, MD(Paed), DCH, MBBS

Dr Selvi is a dedicated and compassionate Paediatrician with expertise in behavioural paediatrics, acute general paediatrics, and neonatal care.

She trained and practised in Sri Lanka, where she worked as a neonatologist, and has continued her paediatric training and career in Australia across leading hospitals including Melbourne (Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Children’s Hospital, Mercy Hospital for Women, Eastern Health), Canberra (Canberra Hospital), and Perth (Princess Margaret Hospital, King Edward Memorial Hospital).

With more than 20 years of experience, she has played a key role in the development of  various clinical guidelines, quality improvement projects, and research initiatives across multiple hospitals. Dr Selvi has been a leader throughout her career, leading a tertiary neonatal unit in Sri Lanka as a consultant neonatal paediatrician and has incorporated these skills throughout her work. 

Dr Selvi has a strong passion in teaching including junior doctors, nursing staff and medical students throughout her work and is an external examiner at Monash University School of Medicine.

Dr Selvi’s approach is warm, thorough, and family-centred. She conducts detailed assessments, communicates clearly with families, and ensures active involvement of each child in their care journey.

She offers comprehensive care, collaborating with GPs, allied health teams, and schools to deliver coordinated, holistic care tailored to each child’s needs. Her calm, compassionate manner helps children feel at ease while supporting families to better understand and manage their child’s health.

Dr Chuong Huynh

General Paediatrician

FRACP, DCH, MBBS, BSc(Hons)

Dr Chuong is an experienced consultant paediatrician with over 10 years of expertise in hospital and community-based child health.

He completed his medical degree at the Australian National University and undertook specialist paediatric training across the ACT and Victoria. He has worked at leading centres including the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital, as well as Monash community health clinics. 

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Chuong is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and junior doctors

With a deep commitment to supporting the health and development of children, Dr Chuong specialises in all general paediatric issues with a special interest in neurodevelopmental disorders and learning difficulties. He is passionate about empowering children and their families. He works together with schools, allied health professionals and other specialists to provide a comprehensive multidisciplinary model of care. 

With a compassionate approach and a focus on providing individualised care, Dr Chuong is dedicated to ensuring that every child reaches their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Dr Bastian (Romanie) Rodrigo

General Paediatrician

FRACP, MD(Paed), DCH, MBBS

Dr Romanie is a dedicated consultant paediatrician specialising in general paediatrics, neonatal care, and community child health, with a focus on behavioural, growth, and developmental concerns.

She completed her training in Sri Lanka and Australia and has extensive clinical experience across Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia. Most of her paediatric training was undertaken in regional hospitals, where she held senior roles, including senior paediatric registrar at Latrobe Regional Hospital. She currently practises in Blackburn and Truganina.

Her special interests include the assessment, long-term management, and coordination of care for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Dr Romanie believes that a paediatrician’s role is to support parents, families, and educators in creating a nurturing environment that promotes the child’s developmental potential and emotional well-being.

She is known for her clear communication, attentive listening, and collaborative approach.

Vaishle Venkipally

Psychologist

MPsych(Clin), GradDipPsych(Hons), BPsych, MAPS

Vaishle is a psychologist with experience helping individuals overcome mental health challenges and improve their overall well being.

She works with clients experiencing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anger issues and more.

Vaishle is passionate about helping people develop resilience, overcome challenges, and lead fulfilling lives with the right support.

She completed a Masters of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) at Bond University.

Lingdi Zhou

Psychologist

Lingdi is a clinical psychology registrar who prioritises helping clients improve functioning and find meaning in their lives through a variety of psychological therapies.

Lingdi has experience working with children, adolescents and adults, with a range of client issues and presentations, including trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), adjustment issues, depression, anxiety/social anxiety, bipolar disorder, school refusal, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), parenting and post-natal issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). 

Lingdi completed his graduate and postgraduate diplomas in psychology at the University of Melbourne, before obtaining a Master of Clinical Psychology from the Australian National University.

Siyan Zhou

Psychologist

MPsych(Couns), GradDipPsych, BSc, MAPS

Siyan is a psychologist endorsed in Counselling Psychology, with a strong professional background supporting adolescents.

She has worked as a psychologist since 2010, with twelve years’ experience working with adolescents in schools providing evidence-based counselling, administering psychoeducational assessments, and facilitating therapeutic group programs. 

Siyan has also worked in private practice and is experienced in administering comprehensive assessments for diagnostic clarification, educational planning and treatment recommendations as well as providing counselling support. Siyan is passionate about supporting and advocating for her clients and helping them achieve their goals.

Dr Helen Chau

Clinical Psychologist
Developmental and Educational Psychologist

PhD, MPsych(Child & Educational), BA(Hons), CertEd, MAPS

Dr Helen is highly experienced and has areas of practice endorsements in Clinical, as well as Developmental and Educational psychology.

She undertakes advanced clinical psycho-diagnostic assessment for differential diagnoses of the child’s developmental difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Anxiety Disorder, selective mutism, developmental delays, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as social and emotional concerns.

Dr Helen completed her Masters degree in Child and Educational Psychology at Monash University  and her Doctor of Philosophy at RMIT University. Her research area is in early intervention for preschool children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

She has worked in Specialist Children’s Services for 10 years and another 10 years in Monash Children’s Hospital. She is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and an AHPRA board approved supervisor.

Moses Liu

Clinical Psychologist

MPsych(Clin), GradDipPsych, BSc, MAPS

Moses is an expert psychologist with a Clinical Psychology endorsement.

He specialises in assessment and treatment of pre-school and school-aged children with developmental and mental health difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and depression. Moses conducts cognitive, educational, and psycho-diagnostic assessments and is experienced with ADOS-2, ADI-R, and CARS-2 for autism evaluation. He also provides general counselling for children with anxiety and depression, short-term parenting support, behavioural and emotional management, and facilitates social skills and school readiness groups. 

Moses completed a Master of Psychology (Clinical) and is a member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. His additional training includes ADOS and Bayley Scales accreditation, and he is an approved Psychology Board of Australia supervisor.

Our Counsellor

Brendan Lee

Child Counsellor/Play Therapist

MPsych(Clin), GradDipPsych, BSc, MAPS

Brendan is a counsellor with specialist training in child and adolescent mental health, holding a Master of Counselling alongside advanced qualifications in psychology.

He brings extensive experience as a school counsellor, supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and social challenges with educational settings.

Brendan is skilled in delivering developmentally appropriate, evidence-based counselling, tailored to each child’s needs. He works collaboratively with families, paediatricians and schools to ensure consistent and holistic care.

Brendan’s approach is warm, developmentally informed and evidence-based, with a strong focus on helping children feel safe, understood, and supported. He uses child-centred counselling strategies, including age-appropriate and play-based techniques, to engage children in a way that feels natural and empowering.

Brendan values collaboration with parents and caregivers, recognising their vital role in supporting progress both inside and outside the therapy setting.
