Dr Shabeed Chelakkadan is a Paediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist with expertise in managing a wide range of neurological conditions.

These include headaches, movement disorders, neuromuscular, neuroimmunology, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurovascular conditions and neurogenetic syndromes.

While passionate about all aspects of paediatric neurology, he has a special interest in complex epilepsy, particularly in the management of drug-resistant cases. As Clinical Lead of the Paediatric Epilepsy Service at Monash Children’s Hospital, he integrates advanced therapies – surgical evaluation, Vagal nerve stimulator (VNS) therapy and ketogenic diet – and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalised, evidence-based care.

Dr Shabeed is the lead Neurologist co-ordinating the paediatric EEG service at Monash Children’s Private Clinic.

Dr Shabeed is also actively involved in research, medical education, and advancing innovative treatments in paediatric neurology.
